Welcome to the Villages at Crest Mountain.  We are an eco-oriented, sustainable community of home owners with diverse backgrounds and opinions on how a neighborhood comes together to learn, play, share tasks, and care for one another.  The Villages has its own homeowners association (HOA) and comprises small and medium-size homes on the lower green space area of Crest Mountain and along some of the adjacent higher elevations (known as the orchards).  There are other neighborhoods in the greater Crest Mountain, known as the condos and upper mountain, each with their own HOA, that are not part of the Villages.

Team-work drives much of what we do.  The Permaculture Team focuses on the overall appearance of the Villages landscape and coordinates activities in the shared garden and common areas.  Owners enjoy a rich harvest throughout summer and fall.  The area is populated with bird houses, feeders and birdbaths along with a pollinator garden with benches for reflection or socializing.  There are many places to walk and bike and we are dog-friendly (cats too). The Community Life Team focuses on welcoming new owners, organizing social activities, and improving communication.  For example, there are group orientations for newcomers and welcome buddies to help with the transition to a new home.  Community gatherings such as picnics and potlucks held outdoors provide meaningful opportunities for residents to mix and mingle and are an important part of our community culture. Various clubs encourage smaller groups to meet around common interests such as the Book Club.  We launched Ted-type talks (Crest Talks) on topics such as global warming’s impacts on WNC, how to reduce greenhouse gases, secrets of the Biltmore, local birds and how to identify them, and others.  We have a Caring Neighbors program to help out when one of us is ill.  The Communication and Administration Team manages the community website and assists with other administrative tasks.  This website is maintained by the Villages members.  The members-only area keeps us up-to-date on our many activities and fosters communication.  Our Board meets at least quarterly and there is an annual meeting.
 

If you are interested in purchasing a lot, building a new home or buying an existing one, please check out the Brookgreen website, the Villages of Crest Mountain developer (link below).  Although this is a gated community, the gates are open 6 days/week from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.  Feel free to drive through the community.  We are a very friendly place and look forward to new neighbors who share our vision for sustaining the environment and joining together to share ideas and talents as we work to form a caring community.
